Charleton Heston reads selections from the story of Moses from the King James Version of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. Includes background music and songs from the Robert deCormier Chorale. Songs include Go Down Moses, We Shall Overcome, Deep River and others.
Easy overview of the Bard. Good for anyone who doesn't actually want to read, but wants to sound educated.
Classic album mentioned in Uncle John's Bathroom reader. Actual recordings of Basic Training and Advanced Training in the 60s. As a former soldier, I can attest to the authenticity of these recordings. They bring back such fond memories.
Another religious filmstrip soundtrack for Christmas.
Just in time for Christmas. A filmstrip Soundtrack about the birth of Jesus.

Charles Laughton reads from the King James Version of the Old Testament. Stories include "The Garden of Eden (Genesis 2-3)", " The Fiery Furnace (Daniel 3)"," Noah's Ark (Genesis 6-9)", and "David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17)." Yes I know they are out of Biblical order, but that's the order they are in on the record. I can't find a date for the record but it appears to be 1950s Decca.
Just what it says. Somewhat dated. A soundtrack to a filmstrip.
Good documentary on the history of the US Constitution. Explains each article. A little dated on the amendments though.
Robert Trout narrates the mission of Alan Shepard on the Mercury capsule Freedom 7. Includes some of the air-to-ground transmissions. Concludes with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" One of the first documentary records I ever heard.
A look at the top news stories of 1971, the year my little sister was born. Sorry for the delay but I've been on vacation.
The life of author Herman Melville. The guy who wrote "Moby Dick" and "Billy Budd"
A 45 minute documentary about the American presidential elections from Washington to Lyndon Johnson. Made in 1968.
Harry Fleetwood narrates a course in better diction. Includes an abridgement of "Rip Van Winkle." From Folkways Records 1961.
A history of the early American space program.
From Enrichment Records 1964. This album was intended to be played in US History classes. Side 1 is a dramatization of the American Revolution. Side 2 is the Battle of Gettysburg.
A different kind of Bill Cosby album. Cos talks (and SINGS) to a group of various aged (mostly very young) children about the dangers of illegal drugs. As always, Bill is wonderful with children.
I'm working on an incentive for those who donate. I seem to have quite a few fans but very little support. Please use the Paypal link to help cover the cost of the site. Or at least leave a comment to show me how much you enjoy the albums or what types you would like to hear. Thanks for listening. I would like to post more often but I'm not getting much encouragement to do so.
Part two of the Poe series highlighting his mystery stories.
A soundtrack to a filmstrip about E. A. Poe with selections from his poems and stories. This one is short so I've included both parts 1 and 2 as separate podcasts.
A classic record. Narrated by Edward R Murrow. Actual recordings of events from 1919 to 1932. Earlier than what you'd get on most OTR documentaries.
BTW: The show has become so popular (Thanks fans) that I'm now being charged for extra bandwidth. If you'd like to help keep this show on the air, please click on tha PayPal icon at the upper right and donate a dollar or two (or more if you're extra generous.) I really appreciate the fan response. I had no idea so many shared my love of these recordings. So please help out if you can.
Thanks,
Apestench
An interesting record. An audio documentary about television. Narrated by Milton Berle (Mr. Television), and Hugh Downs with Arlene Francis. It covers the first 25 years of television. Sorry no cover this time. My scanner is on the fritz.
I would be remiss in my duty as a Christian if I did not post this in time for Christmas. Please remember that Christ is the beginning of Christmas. This is a full cast audiodrama of the life of Christ. It is 90 minutes long but well worth a listen. Merry Christmas - Apestench
A biography of Joseph Haydn with excerpts from his music.
I found this in a thrift shop this week. It contains different highlights than other sports highlight albums I've listened to. Please E-mail or comment if you know anything about this album.
